Bradford Festival Choral Society (BFCS) is proud to be a registered charity dedicated to bringing the joy of choral music to our community. Our mission is not only to perform but to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background, has the opportunity to experience the power of live choral music.
Our Financial Model
As a registered charity, BFCS relies on a well-balanced financial model to sustain our activities. Here’s how it works:
- Membership Fees: The membership fees paid by our dedicated singers primarily cover the costs of our weekly rehearsals. These fees ensure that we can provide a high-quality rehearsal environment with professional leadership.
- Ticket Sales: The costs associated with hosting concerts, such as venue hire, professional musicians, and other production expenses, are covered by ticket sales. To sustain the quality of our performances and continue offering them to the public, it’s essential that ticket prices reflect these costs.
Understanding Our Concert Ticket Pricing
We believe in being transparent about our ticket pricing. For our self-promoted concerts (not part of the Bradford Theatres orchestral concert season), we have set the following ticket prices for Price Hall at Bradford Grammar School:
- £20 per adult
- £18 for over 60s
- £15 per ticket for groups of 5 or more
- £12 per ticket for groups of 8 or more
- Free Tickets for Under 18s: We want to inspire the next generation with our music, so we offer free tickets to anyone under the age of 18. This is part of our commitment to making music accessible to families and young people.
- £5 Tickets for Students, Under 30s and Low-Income Attendees: We understand that cost can be a barrier for many. To ensure that our concerts are accessible to younger audiences and those on a low income, we offer a significantly reduced ticket price of just £5.
For our upcoming 2026 summer concert at Skipton Town Hall we have set a simplified ticketing pricing of £25 for adults, and £5 for students, under 30s and low-income attendees.
Our Commitment to Inclusivity
At BFCS, we believe that music is for everyone. There are no restrictions on who can attend our concerts, and we strive to remove any barriers that might prevent someone from enjoying the music we create. Whether you’re a long-time choral enthusiast or attending your first concert, you are welcome.
We strive to ensure all our concert venues have good accessibility for wheelchair users, and in our 2023-24 season we introduced the use of a ‘quiet room‘ or ‘quiet space’ for anyone who may feel overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of a busy concert hall or by the music itself. If you have any suggestions about how we can make our concerts even more accessible please contact us: bradfordfestivalchoralsociety@gmail.com
By making our concerts as accessible as possible, we aim to introduce the beautiful choral music we create to as many people as possible. Your support, whether through attending our concerts, becoming a member, supporting our BFCS Inspire initiative or simply spreading the word, helps us continue this important work.
Thank you for being part of our community. We look forward to seeing you at our Concerts!
