Saturday June 13th and Sunday June 14th, 2 pm – 5.45 pm
BFCS is thrilled to have organised this unique musical event at the Bradford Festival (festival website here). Throughout both afternoons the centre of Bradford will be filled with the uplifting sound of choral singing. Performances by seventeen diverse choirs from across the district will culminate in a Massed Sing at the Mirror Pool in the City Park.
As well as classical ensembles, community choirs and school choirs, the singing groups include a women’s barbershop choir, a Swing ensemble and choirs made up of all kinds of people including refugees, carers and people with learning disabilities. Some are well established choirs, others have come together specially for this occasion. A full description of the choirs can be found here.
During both afternoons, he choirs will present ‘pop-up performances’ in unexpected places like the Media Museum and the Interchange. There will be 2 short concerts in City Park (Saturday 3.15pm and 5 pm, Sunday 2 pm and 4.45 pm). The second concert on both afternoons will culminate in a Massed Sing by all the choirs and anyone in the audience who wants to join in. The lyrics of the songs are here.
