Forthcoming Events

BFCS’s 2021-2022 season is full of contrasting delights – we’re thrilled to be back performing in person.

Our season launches with an evocative programme of contemporary choral music, from the shimmering beauty of Eriks Esenvalds Stars and Long Road, to the beguiling textures and drama of Whitacre’s Cloudburst. This is complemented by music by Lili Boulanger and Reena Esmail and a great team of guest musicians and soloists.

We welcome back Rothwell Temperance Band for our Christmas concert, and in March sing Bach’s mighty St Matthew Passion in a new English translation.  In summer 2022 we try our hand at opera with Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, together with madrigals by Barbara Strozzi and Bach’s beautiful cantata 196.

Reduced ticket prices for groups of 5 or more, and FREE for people under 30 or on a low income.

Tickets for all events organised by BFCS can be purchased through Ticket Source.

Vocal Workshop and Performance – Bach St Matthew Passion

February 12 @ 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm

- £12

  Join Bradford Festival Choral Society to sing Bach St Matthew Passion on Saturday 12th February 2022 at the Bradford Ukrainian Centre on Legrams Lane, BD7 2EA.  Tom Leech, our inspiring Musical Director will lead a workshop from 2pm to 5pm, which will lead to an informal performance of the Bach masterpiece from 6pm – invite your friends and family!

Our ‘Come and Sing’ events have been praised for combining a friendly and informal atmosphere with brilliant musical content. You’ll learn some wonderful music, enjoy Tom’s insights, tips and humour, and pick up new vocal ideas along the way. Some music-reading ability and a little previous choral experience will help you get the most out of the afternoon. The pace will be quite relaxed.

Those attending the Come and Sing event are asked to maintain the following health precautions:
– take a lateral flow test within 24 hours prior to the rehearsal (if you forget tests are available at the rehearsal sign-in desk);
